Intentionality

Juggling life as a parent and a partner is challenging. It is easy to get caught up in the busyness and routine. After all, there is so much to be done and only so much time.

In a desire to make time to connect in a heart-centered way, my partner recently suggested a weekly ritual around intentions.

Each week we take an hour of private time and share where we are each at with our own personal intentions on how we want to live in the world.

The practice, though new, has already offered rich soil for learning.

In writing my intentions, I identified patterns that filter into many aspects of being. In listening to each other deeply and without distractions, we have rekindled some of the yes between us. And in choosing to make time for our partnership, we are modeling how to tend to healthy, loving relationship to our children.

As I sit in my office today waiting for my next client, I am grateful for such a rich partnership.
